اَللّٰهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِيْ رُشْدِيْ ، وَأَعِذْنِيْ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِيْ.

Phonetic transliteration

Allāhumma alhimnī rushdī, wa aʿidhnī min sharri nafsī.

English translation

“O Allah, inspire me with sound guidance and protect me from the evil of my self.”

Virtue & benefit: ʿImrān b. Husayn (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated: “The Prophet ﷺ said to my father: ‘O Husayn, how many deities do you worship now?‘ He said: ‘Seven. Six in the earth, and one above the heavens.’ He ﷺ said: ‘So which of them do you take for your ardent requests and fears?’ He said: ‘The one above the heavens.’ He ﷺ said: ‘O Husayn, if you accept Islam, I would teach you two phrases that would benefit you.’” He (the narrator) said: “So when Husayn accepted Islam, he said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me the two phrases you promised me.’ So he ﷺ said: [the above].” (Tirmidhī 3483)

হে আল্লাহ! আমার অন্তরে সততা ঢেলে দাও এবং আমাকে আমার প্রবৃত্তির অনিষ্ট থেকে রক্ষা কর। (অর্থাৎ আমাকে আমার জন্যে কল্যাণকর অভিরুচির অধিকারী কর এবং অকল্যাণকর অভিরুচি ও প্রবৃত্তি থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা কর। এর অনিষ্ট থেকে তুমি আমাকে তোমার নিজ হিফাযতে রাখো।)

Contentment & Allah’s Protection

اَللّٰهُمَّ قَنِّعْنِيْ بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِيْ ، وَبَارِكْ لِيْ فِيْهِ ، وَاخْلُفْ عَلَيٰ كُلِّ غَائِبَةٍ لِّيْ بِخَيْرٍ

O Allah, make me content with what You have granted me, bless me in it and be a protector for me in that which is absent from me (i.e. family and weal

Duʿa for Allah’s Love & Protection From Trials

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ ، وَتَرْكَ الْمُنْكَرَاتِ ، وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِيْنِ ، وَأَنْ تَغْفِرَ

O Allah, I beg You to enable me to do good deeds, abstain from evil acts, and love the poor; and that You forgive me and have mercy upon me. When You

For Difficult Times: All Your Prayers Answered

لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّيْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْنَ

There is no god worthy of worship except You; You are free from all imperfection. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. (21:87)

For Firmness of the Heart

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوْبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِيْ عَلَىٰ دِيْنِكَ

O Changer of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.
