اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ عَافَانِيْ فِيْ جَسَدِيْ ، وَرَدَّ عَليَّ رُوْحِيْ ، وَأَذِنَ لِييْ بِذِكْرِهِ.

Phonetic transliteration

Alḥamdu li-llāhi-l-ladhī ʿāfānī fī jasadī, wa radda ʿalayya rūḥī, wa adhina lī bi dhikrih.

English translation

“All praise is for Allah Who granted me well-being in my body, and returned my soul to me and allowed me to remember Him.”

Virtue & benefit: Abū Hurayrah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When one of you leaves his bed then returns to it, then he should dust it off with the edge of his garment three times, for indeed he does not know what came upon it after him. When he lies down, he should say: ‘In Your Name my Lord, I lie down, and in Your Name, I rise. If You take my soul away then have mercy upon it; and if You return my soul then protect it with what you protect Your righteous servants with.’ And when he wakes up, he should say [the above].” (Tirmidhī 3401)

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُوْرُ

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us, and unto Him is the resurrection.

Ask Allah to Protect You From Evil

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ ، وَكَلِمَاتِكَ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِه

O Allah, I seek protection by Your Noble Countenance and by Your perfect words from the evil of all that You hold by the forehead. O Allah, it is You

Before sleeping - 1

بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّي وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ فَإِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظ

In Your name my Lord, I lie down and in Your name I rise, so if You should take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if You should return my soul then

Before sleeping - 2

اللَّهُمَّ خَلَقْتَ نَفْسِي وَأَنْتَ تَوَفَّاهَا لَكَ مَمَاتُهَا وَمَحْيَاهَا إِنْ أَحْيَيْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا وَإِنْ أَم

O Allah, verily You have created my soul and You shall take its life, to You belongs its life and death. If You should keep my soul alive then protect

Before sleeping - 4

بِاسْـمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

In Your name O Allah, I live and die.

Die Upon the Fitrah

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ إِلَيْكَ ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِيْ إِلَيْكَ ، وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيْ إِلَيْكَ ، وَأَلْجَاْتُ

O Allah, I submit my soul unto You, and I entrust my affair unto You, and I turn my face towards You, and I totally rely on You, in hope and fear of Y
